Using the Features Tab

Use the options available in the Features tab of the Parent Portal Manager module to enable and configure features of the Parent Portal. Add functions and select information to display in the Parent Portal, as required. The options available allow you to customise your Parent Portal with functionality that matches parents' and your school's requirements.

When you select the Features tab, a number of options are available for you in the right-hand menu. Each option listed in the Features tab is linked to a function in the Parent Portal. The options available are explained below:

Overview	Features Overview. Check the current status of features running in the Parent Portal.
School Life	Daily Bulletin. Set up daily bulletins to display in the Parent Portal. School News. Set up school news stories to display in the Parent Portal. School Calendar. Set up school calendars to display in the Parent Portal. Photo Galleries. Set up standalone images and artwork to display in the Parent Portal.
Communication	Parent Contacts. Set up access to contact information in the Parent Portal. Communication Options. Set up e-mail and SMS notifications, subscriptions and message histories in the Parent Portal.
School Profile	Timetable Options. Set up parent access to school timetables. Teaching Groups Options. Set up parent access to teaching set lists. Attendance Options. Set up parent access to attendance records. Discipline Options. Set up parent access to detention records. Reward & Conduct Options. Set up parent access to rewards and conduct records. Activities Options. Set up parent access to lists of pupil activities. Internal Exams Options. Set up parent access to lists of school exams. Public Exams Options. Set up parent access to lists of external exams. School Reports Options. Set up parent access to school reports and assessment results.
Interactive Features	Electronic Forms Options. Set up and manage electronic forms, such as questionnaires, used in the Parent Portal.
Information Options	Document Options. Upload and manage documents that parents can download from the Parent Portal. School Website Options. This option is not currently in use. Bookmark Options. Set up and manage bookmarks in the Parent Portal to link the portal to external webpages. School Directory Options. Display a school directory in the Parent Portal and choose the contacts listed in the school directory.
Account Options	E-Mail Options. Allow parents to change the e-mail address linked to their Parent Portal account in the Parent Portal. Password Options. Allow parents to change their Parent Portal account password in the Parent Portal. Security Question Options. Allow parents to change the security question and answer linked to their Parent Portal account in the Parent Portal. Time Zone Options. This option is not currently in use.
