Use the Features tab in the Parent Portal Manager module to allow parents to change the email address linked to their Parent Portal account. You can choose to let parents change their email addresses directly in the Parent Portal or by contacting your portal administrator. Making parents responsible for changing their email addresses directly in the Parent Portal is useful if there are a large number of Parent Portal accounts to maintain.
When the E-Mail Options feature is enabled, Parent Portal users can change the email address linked to the account from the 'My E-mail Options' screen under the 'My Account' menu in the Parent Portal.
To enable and set email reset options, follow the steps below:
- In the Parent Portal Manager module, select the Features tab.
- Select E-Mail Options from the right hand menu.
The E-Mail Options screen is displayed: - Complete the fields displayed:
- E-Mail Status. Select 'Open' from the drop down list to let parents view email reset options in the Parent Portal.
- E-Mail Editable. Select 'Yes' from the drop down list to allow parents to change their linked email addresses in the Parent Portal. Select the checkbox if you wish parents to verify their email address using SAV (Sender Address Verification).
- Either:
- Click Save Options when finished.
or - Click Reload Options to revert to previously saved settings.
- Click Save Options when finished.
