Use the Rewards & Conduct Options screen in the Features tab to allow parents to view their children's reward and conduct records in the Parent Portal. Use this option to select the year groups of pupils that you wish to share news of awards and sanctions with and let parents subscribe to receive notifications via email or SMS message. This is useful if you wish to automatically inform parents when their children have been given an award or sanction at your school.
When this feature is enabled, reward and conduct records are displayed in the 'Reward & Conduct Record' screen under the School Profile menu in the Parent Portal. Reward and conduct information for all pupils linked to the Parent Portal account can be accessed from this screen. The rewards and conduct information listed in the Parent Portal is closely linked with the Rewards & Conduct module.
Choose to:
- Enable and set up pupil reward and conduct information available in the Parent Portal.
- Configure reward and conduct notifications sent from the Parent Portal.
Set Up Reward and Conduct Records in the Parent Portal
To enable and set up discipline record features available in the Parent Portal, follow the steps below:
- In the Parent Portal Manager module, select the Features tab.
- Select Reward & Conduct Options from the right hand menu. The Reward & Conduct Options screen is displayed.
- Select the Options tab. An example of the fields available in the Options tab is shown below:
- Use the fields available to set up discipline record features in the Parent Portal:
- Reward & Conduct Status. Select 'Open' to enable parents to view their children's reward and conduct records from the 'Reward & Conduct Record' screen in the Parent Portal.
- Available Years. Select the year groups of pupils who you wish to display reward and conduct records for in the Parent Portal. Reward and conduct records for each pupil are shared with their parents in the Parent Portal. Hold Ctrl to make multiple selections, as required.
- Either:
- Click Save Options when finished.
or - Click Reload Options to revert to previously saved settings.
- Click Save Options when finished.
Configure Reward and Conduct Notifications
Set up the Parent Portal to allow parents to subscribe to email and SMS notifications when their children have been given awards and sanctions at school.
To set up reward and conduct notifications sent from the Parent Portal, follow the steps below:
- In the Parent Portal Manager module, select the Features tab.
- Select Reward & Conduct Options from the right hand menu.
The Reward & Conduct Options screen is displayed. - Select the Notifications tab. An example of the fields available in the Notifications tab is shown below:
- In the Notifications section, use the fields available to enable detention alerts to be sent to parents:
- Reward Conduct E-Mails. Select the checkbox to allow parents to register to receive email notifications regarding detentions. Use the drop down list displayed to choose whether you want parents to opt in to receive (or opt out of receiving) notifications.
- Reward Conduct SMS. Select the checkbox to allow parents to register to receive SMS message notifications regarding detentions. Use the drop down list displayed to choose whether you want parents to opt in to receive (or opt out of receiving) notifications.
- In the Notification Options section, select the checkboxes available to choose the rewards and conduct record options that you wish to include in notifications to Parent Portal users. For example, you can choose to notify parents when their children are awarded certificates. Select as many record options as you require.
- Either:
- Click Save Options when finished.
or - Click Reload Options to revert to previously saved settings.
- Click Save Options when finished.
