Use the Manage Push Devices option in the Mobile & Tablet Manager to view all registered user devices and the iSAMS mobile apps they can access. Use this option to control access to mobile apps, for example delete or ban devices from here if you need to.
This function works in the same way as Manage Active Devices and Manage Banned Devices in the Configuration tab.
To manage push devices:
- Either:
- Open the iSAMS Control Panel and select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet.
or - Select Mobile & Tablet Manager from the module bar if the applet has been configured to display here.
- Open the iSAMS Control Panel and select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet.
Open the Notifications tab and select Manage Push Devices from the right hand menu:
- Choose to:
Delete All Devices
Quickly delete all devices with access to mobile apps. Users with these devices will need to reinstall apps to start using them again. This is useful if an app needs to be reinstalled to function as expected.
- Click Delete All Push Devices in the top left of the Manage Push Devices screen.
You are prompted Are you sure you want to delete all push devices? - Select Yes.
All devices all removed from the Manage Push Devices list. Users have to reinstall the mobile apps to use them again.
Delete a Selected Device
Delete an individual device to remove access to all the mobile apps it has installed. Users with a deleted device will need to reinstall the apps to start using them again. This is useful if apps needs to be reinstalled to function as expected.
- Scroll through the Manage Push Devices screen to locate the device that you want to delete.
- Click on the right of the screen for your selected device.
You are prompted Are you sure you want to delete this device? - Select Yes.
The device is removed from the Manage Push Devices list. Users have to reinstall the mobile apps to use them again.
Delete an App Link to a Selected Device
Delete the link between a selected device and a selected app. Users with deleted links to apps will need to reinstall the app to start using it again. This is useful if an app needs to be reinstalled to function as expected.
- Scroll through the Manage Push Devices screen to locate the device that you want to work with.
- Click on the right of the screen for your selected device.
You are prompted Are you sure you want to unlink this device? - Select Yes.
The link is removed from the Manage Push Devices list. Users have to reinstall the mobile app to use it again. If only one app is linked to the device, the device is removed from the Manage Push Devices list.
Ban a Device from Accessing Mobile Apps
Ban registered devices from accessing mobile apps. This is useful if a user's registered device has been stolen. Ban a device to prevent any user from using the device to log back into iSAMS and retrieve sensitive data.
- Scroll through the Manage Push Devices screen to locate the device that you want to work with.
- Click next to the device you wish to ban.
You are prompted Are you sure you want to ban this device? - Click Yes to ban the device from accessing iSAMS mobile apps. The device is now listed as banned in both the Manage Push Devices screen and the Manage Banned Devices option.
Unban a Device to Allow Access to Mobile Apps
Choose to overturn a ban on a user's device.
- Scroll through the Manage Push Devices screen to locate the device that you want to work with.
- Click next to the device you wish to allow access. A popup window is displayed.
You are prompted Are you sure you want to allow this device? - Click Yes to unban the device and grant access to iSAMS mobile apps.
View and Control the Channels that a Device is Subscribed To
Quickly view the push notification channels that a device is subscribed to. Choose to change channel subscriptions if necessary. See Managing Push Notification Channels for more information on push notification channels.
- Scroll through the Manage Push Devices screen to locate the device that you want to work with.
- Click next to the mobile app listed. A popup window is displayed:
- Use the checkboxes to select or deselect channels.
- Click Save & Close.
