Use the Push Group Management option in the Mobile & Tablet Manager to manage security permissions for sending notification messages to iSAMS mobile apps. Configure permissions so that only selected users and groups can send and authorise notifications.
- Either:
- Open the iSAMS Control Panel and select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet.
or - Select Mobile & Tablet Manager from the module bar if the applet has been configured to display here.
- Open the iSAMS Control Panel and select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet.
Open the Notifications tab and select Push Group Management from the right hand menu:
Push Group Management displays all of the current security groups (showing Group Name and Group Description) and an overview of each group's properties:
Column Property Groups The number of user groups included in the security group. Users The number of users included in the security group. Outbound notifications can be sent by the security group. Messages can be delivered without authorisation. Messages require authorisation before being delivered. The security group is currently active and users can compile messages. The security group is inactive and users cannot compile messages. You may prefer to make a group inactive rather than delete it. Click to edit the group. Click to delete the group. You may prefer to make a group inactive rather than delete it. A default security group is set up for you, this is always shown at the bottom of the security group list. This includes all iSAMS groups and users.
- Choose to:
- Create a new security group. Set up a group of users who have permission to both compile and authorise messages. Choose to create as many groups as you need.
- Change the order that security groups are listed. The order that groups are listed determines the group permissions that are applied to a user listed in more than one group.
- Edit an existing security group. You may want to change the default group so that users and groups cannot compile and authorise messages.
- Delete an existing security group.
Create a New Security Group
- Click Create Security Group to display the Add Security Group window:
Select the Group Properties tab and complete the fields displayed:
FieldExplanationGroup Name Enter a clear and concise name for the security group. You may want to name the security group to reflect the users/user groups associated with it. Group Description Enter a description to help identify the users in the group. This field is optional. Active Security Group Select 'Yes' for users in the group to compile notifications. Default Security Group This field is greyed out and cannot be changed. - Select the Outbound tab and select 'Yes' for outbound notification messages to be compiled by the group. You may want to select 'No' here if the group is only being created to authorise messages.
- Select the Authorisation tab:
- Select whether you want notifications messages from this group to be authorised. Select 'No' if you want messages to be authorised before being sent.
- Select whether notifications are not be authorised via e-mail or not and check the users who you want to authorise this group's notifications. Notifications waiting to be authorised are listed as Queued.
- Use the Users and Groups tabs to select the users and user groups to be included in the security group.
- Click Save & Close.
The group is listed in the Push Group Management screen. - Change the order of security groups if required to ensure that users belonging to more than one group have the preferred settings.
