Use the Import tab in the Timetable Manager module to import your existing timetable into iSAMS.
- Before you import your timetable you must ensure that you have setup your timetable structure in iSAMS.
- The timetable structure must exactly match that of your existing timetable. This reduces structure errors and problems occurring during the import.
- See Importing your School Timetable into iSAMS for more information on what to do before you import your existing timetable into iSAMS.
To import your existing timetable into iSAMS, follow the steps below:
- Open the Timetable Manager module and select the Import tab.
- Select Import Wizard from the options listed in the right hand menu to display this screen:
- In Importer Options, select your timetable software from the drop down list.
- Click Add Files and select the files which you want to import into iSAMS. If you are using Keith Johnson's Timetabler, select file TTExport.txt.
- In Import Options, select a current or development database, this refers to information held in the Teaching Manager module. Use the current database unless you are planning a timetable for the next academic year. For timetables in the next academic year use a development database where students in sets and forms are different to those in the current year.
- In Import Timetable Information, enter a Timetable Name, Start Year and End Year for your school timetable. See Create a School Timetable for more information.
- Check the box if you want to import the timetable as a development timetable. This is useful when you first import the timetable and want to check it before it goes live. You can change the properties of your timetable once you are ready to use it.
- Click Upload & Import. The Import Timetable - Version 2 screen is displayed:
- You are now ready to continue with the import and review the quality of your import.
