Use the Departments tab in the School Manager module to set up and manage school departments. School departments allow you to group areas of your school based on staff function or subject, such as 'IT Support' or 'Science'.
List all departments within your school, you can then add subjects to their associated department in the Teaching Manager module. You can also link each department to a School Division, if required.
For example, create a 'Science' department, link the subjects 'Biology', 'Chemistry' and 'Physics' and link the department to the 'Senior' division of your school. Only teachers and pupils linked to the 'Senior' division can be added to subjects in the 'Science' department. This helps to filter the information on your screen when you are entering data in the School Manager module.
- You can choose to create both teaching departments and non-teaching departments. This is useful for ensuring that all school departments are listed and organised correctly.
- You can also create teaching departments in the Teaching Manager module.
- Teaching departments set up in the Teaching Manager module are displayed in the School Manager module and vice versa.
