Use the Roles tab in a staff record to view and manage a staff member's teaching roles, departments and subjects. The roles listed here are for information only, they are not linked to other iSAMS modules.
- Open the HR Manager module and select the Manage Staff tab:
- Search and select a staff record to work with and select the Roles tab:
- Choose to:
- Assign Staff Roles. Assign roles, departments and subjects to your selected teacher.
- Add Staff Role. Add more role options to the list displayed.
- Delete Staff Roles. Remove role options from the list displayed. This is a useful housekeeping tool.
Assign Staff Roles
To assign teaching roles, departments and subjects to a staff member, follow the steps below:
- Select Roles, Departments and Subjects from the Available options on the left hand of the screen. Hold Ctrl to make multiple selections, if required:
- Use the arrows to move your selections to Assigned options on the right hand of the screen:
- Change the order of Assigned options by clicking on a role and using the arrows:
The Assigned option at the top of the list should indicate the staff member's primary Role, Department and Subject. - Either:
- Click Update Data to save the new data.
or - Click Reload Record to refresh the record with the last saved data.
- Click Update Data to save the new data.
Add Staff Roles
Choose to add more options to the list of Available Roles. The Available Roles list is displayed under the Roles tab in staff records.
To add staff roles, follow the steps below:
- Click above Available Roles.
The School Roles window is displayed: - Click Add School Role.
- Enter the name of the role you want to add.
- Click Save & Close.
The School Roles are added to the Available Roles list.
Delete Staff Roles
Choose to remove options from the list of Available Roles. The Available Roles list is displayed under the Roles tab in staff records. This is a useful housekeeping tool.
Deleting a Staff Role also removes it from any Assigned Roles listed in staff records.
To delete staff roles, follow the steps below:
- Click above Available Roles. The School Roles window is displayed:
- Click Remove School Role.
- Select the School Roles you want to remove.
- Click Save & Close.
The School Roles are removed from the Available Roles and Assigned Roles lists.
