Use the Room Configurations option in the External Exams Manager module to add a new exam room:
- Open the External Exams Manager module and select the Timetables tab.
- Select Room Configurations from the right hand menu to display the Room Configurations screen:
- Click Add Room Configuration in the top left of the screen.
Step 1 of the Add Room Configuration wizard is displayed: - Complete the Room Details section:
- Associated Classroom. Click in the field and select a room from the drop down menu. The buildings and rooms listed are pulled in from the Estates Manager module. If the room you want to add is not listed just add a Room Code and Room Name.
- Room Code. Enter a clear and concise code. This is displayed in timetables.
- Room Name. Enter the full name of the exam room. This is displayed in drop down lists when selecting locations for exams.
- Complete the Seating Configuration section as required:
- Enter the number of Rows and Columns of seats that you want to have in the room.
- Enter a number to start the seat numbering with.
- Select the arrangement for seats, place for the starting number and the direction that seats are to be numbered.
- Click Next.
Step 2 of the wizard displays the room layout: - Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons if you want to see the seating layout more clearly.
- Click on any seat to flag it as unused. Unused seats are highlighted red. Click Clear to remove all unused flags from the layout.
- Click Save to confirm the layout. A message is displayed confirming the room configuration.
- Click Done to close the wizard. The new room is listed in the Room Configurations screen. Rooms without an Associated Classroom are listed under the 'Misc. Buildings' category.
- You can now add a seating plan to the room or allocate the room to an exam.
