It is possible to have separate security profiles in iSAMS allowing members of staff different levels of access in iSAMS. Create and view a list of Security Profiles in the Permissions & Security Profiles applet. Security profiles can be assigned a specific set of permissions to limit user activity in iSAMS modules. For example, create a security profile called 'Exams Admins' and set full access privileges to the External Exams Manager module, but limit their access to other iSAMS modules. You can then assign the security profile to specific users in the User Accounts applet, in this case to link the Exams Admins profile to your school's exams officers' user profiles.
When you access the Permissions & Security Profiles applet, the Security Profiles tab is selected. Security profiles are listed in the tab, along with their identifying code and description. The number of users assigned to the security profile is displayed alongside the profile's name.
An example of the Security Profiles tab is displayed below:
Choose to:
- View Security Profile Users. View and print a list of user accounts linked to a security profile.
- Print Security Profiles. Print and distribute a copy of the module permissions settings for a security profile.
- Copy Security Profiles. Copy the properties of an existing security profile to use as a template.
- Edit Security Profiles. Edit the properties of a security profile, including the profile description and default permissions settings.
You can also create a new Security Profile using the tab available.
