Use the Exams tab in the Admission module to view the exam papers that candidates have been entered for.
The following options are available under Entrance Exam Entries in the right hand menu:
- View Programme Entries. View candidate entries for entrance exam papers. Add or remove candidate entries as required.
- View Applicant Entries. View entrance exam papers that an individual candidate has been entered for. Add or remove candidate entries as required.
- Exam Entry Reports. Create and print reports for entrance exam papers and candidates.
View Programme Entries
View and manage candidate entries for entrance exams. You can filter and search for entrance exam papers and add or remove candidate entries as required. Enter candidates that are due to sit specific entrance exam papers.
Before entering candidates for entrance exams, you must first follow the steps below:
- Select applicants and enter them as exam candidates from their applicant records or using the pink drop down list in the Applicant tab.
- Assign relevant and unique Exam Codes from applicant records or using the Applicant Candidates option in the Exams tab.
To view entrance exam papers and enter additional candidates, follow the steps below:
- In the Admissions module, select the Exams tab.
- Use the drop down list in the top right of the screen to select an exam session to work with.
- Select View Programme Entries from the menu to the right of the screen.
The Internal Exam Entries screen is displayed: - Use the filters to search for the entrance exam paper you wish to work with.
- Select an entrance exam paper from the left hand menu.
Candidates who have been entered for the exam paper are listed in the screen. - Click Add Entries.
The Edit Exam Entries Wizard is displayed: - Use the fields available in the Pupil Search section to define search criteria and click Search.
A list of entrance exam candidates is displayed. - Use the check boxes to select the candidates you wish to enter.
- Click Save.
The next step of the Edit Exam Entries Wizard is displayed confirming that you have successfully entered candidates: - Click Finish & Close.
The candidates that have been entered are listed in the Internal Exam Entries screen.
Click by candidates you wish to withdraw from selected entrance exam papers in the Internal Exam Entries screen.
View Applicant Entries
Search for entrance exam candidates and view the entrance exam papers that they have been entered into using the View Applicant Entries option. You can then enter candidates into entrance exams to be held during a selected exam session. You can also withdraw candidates from entrance exam papers that they are no longer required to sit.

To view entrance exam papers that an individual candidate has been entered into and add additional papers, follow the steps below:
- In the Admissions module, select the Exams tab.
- Select View Applicant Entries from the menu to the right of the screen.
The Pupil Entries screen is displayed: - Select a filter method at the top of the screen to search for the exam candidate you wish to work with:
- Custom Search. Search for candidates by name.
- Filter Search. Search for candidates by school intake year and admissions status.
- Select a candidate from the left hand menu.
The candidate's associated entrance exams are listed in the screen. - Use the drop down list to select an exam session to work with.
Exam papers that the candidate has been entered into are listed in the screen. - Click Add Entries.
The Edit Pupil Entries Wizard is displayed: - Use the drop down lists in the Exam Search section to filter entrance exam papers by exam programme and session.
A list of entrance exam papers is listed. - Use the checkboxes to select the exam papers you wish to enter the candidate into.
- Click Save.
The next step of the Edit Pupil Entries Wizard is displayed confirming that you have successfully entered candidates: - Click Finish & Close.
The exam papers that the candidate has been entered into are listed in the Pupil Entries screen.
Click by the exam papers you wish to withdraw the candidate from entering in the Pupil Entries screen.
Exam Entry Reports
Create and view reports for entrance exams at your school. Use this to generate attendee lists and individual applicant exam lists. You can also use this to update exam results in bulk quickly by exporting a report into Excel and then importing updated files back into iSAMS.
To generate exam entry reports, follow the steps below:
- In the Admissions module, select the Exams tab.
- Select Exam Entry Reports from the menu to the right of the screen.
The Exam Entries Reports Wizard is displayed: - Select the Report View tab:
- In the Reporting Services section, select a service used to generate your report. For example, you can choose an option under 'Use Reporting Services' to generate a report using a template assigned in the SQL Reporting Manager module.
- Use the radio buttons to select a Report View:
- Pupil View. Generate a report listing all entrance exam papers and the candidates associated with them.
- Paper View. Generate a report listing candidates and the entrance exam papers that they have been entered into.
- Results Import. Generate a report in Excel format. This is useful for updating information such as exam marks externally and then importing results into iSAMS in bulk.
Select the Report Format tab and use the radio buttons to select a format for the report.
The Report Format tab is not available if you have selected Results Import in the Report View tab.
- Select the Exam Options tab and use the drop down lists to specify the entrance exam criteria to be included in the report.
- Select the Pupil Options tab and use the fields available to specify the entrance exam candidates you wish to include in the report. Choose to create reports for individual candidates or include candidates from a specified Year Group, School Form, House or Set.
- Click Produce Report.
Your report is created in the selected format. You can then print, open or save the report as required.
