You can access My Network Space in a variety of different ways.
The usual way is through iSAMS, by clicking on the My Network Space icon in the left-hand column (Personal category):
You may be prompted to enter separate credentials (username and password) for My Network Space when accessing the module this way.
Alternative options are available to access My Network Space which may be more convenient. You can:
- Open My Network Space directly in your web browser without first logging into iSAMS. You may want to do this for two reasons:
- To access My Network Space from a location where you don't have access to the main iSAMS system, e.g. your home.
- To use a browser that supports HTML 5, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or Apple Safari. When you use My Network Space in an HTML5 browser, additional functionality is available such as the ability to drag and drop files between your computer and My Network Space.
- Access My Network Space via MapDrive. You can create a mapped drive on your computer, to access My Network Space with a single click. For example, you could set your Z: drive to map to My Network Space. Accessing My Network Space is then as easy as clicking on a local drive in your computer. You don't need to enter your username and password each time, as these can be stored in your computer and passed to My Network Space automatically each time you click on the drive letter.
Your My Network Space Administrator can specify which of these options are available to users. This is done in the My Network Space Platforms screen within the My Network Space Manager. See My Network Space Platforms for details. |
Opening My Network Space Directly
To open My Network Space directly, without first logging into iSAMS, follow these steps:
1. Launch the web browser you want to use and go to the web address provided by your system administrator.
If this URL doesn't work, a shortcut to the latest URL is available from within iSAMS. Click on Open My Network Space In New Window, in the Side Panel. |
2. Log in using your usual network credentials. My Network Space then opens.
If you're going to access My Network Space regularly this way, bookmarking this address in your browser will save you from having to remember it. |
When you access My Network Space directly in this way, the functionality available is limited. Not all of the options, buttons and panels are available. |
