The Security Options applet in Control Panel lets you configure security features to user accounts and your iSAMS system. For example, you may wish to force users to access iSAMS through a secure connection.
Manage the security options to:
- Lock and disable user accounts after a number of unsuccessful login attempts. This can prevent fraudulent access to iSAMS. See Account Disable & Lock Options.
- Change how users log into iSAMS. For example, you can have a list of usernames appear for the user to select. You may also wish the user to enter characters of their Security Answer for added authentication. See Account Login & Logout Options.
- Set password requirements for user accounts, such as a minimum password length. See Account Password Options.
- Lock and timeout user accounts after a set period of inactivity. This limits exposure of your system's data to active users only. See Account Lock & Timeout Options.
Security features can also be configured for your system as well as user accounts. You can change the security features of your system to:
- Limit cookie sharing across your domain. Specify the domain that the cookie applies to and select areas of iSAMS that can share the cookie. See System Cookie Options.
- Allow and force users to connect to iSAMS through a secure connection. Activate the SSL encryption type on your certified domain and force users to connect to the domain securely. See System SSL Configuration.
- Change your system administrator's contact details. Update the contact details as required. See System Security Configuration.
