You can configure security features for your iSAMS system using the options available under System Security Options in the Security Options applet. Set up the options to configure cookie sharing, force secure connections to iSAMS and change the administrator's contact details.
Access these options in the Security Options applet from Control Panel.
The following options are available to you:
- System Cookie Options. Configure cookie sharing between sites on your system domain.
- System SSL Configuration. Activate the SSL security feature to your system and force users to access the system through the secure connection.
- System Security Configuration. View and change the contact details for your system's administrator.
System Cookie Options
Configure cookie settings to your iSAMS domain and choose to share cookies across it in the System Cookie Options screen. Cookies store user data which can be used to save user preference data from iSAMS. Cookie sharing lets the system identify logged-in users and prevents it from requesting user credentials. You can choose to share cookies only to sites on your specified domain through SSL, a protocol which encrypts information on websites, if available.
To configure the cookie settings for your system, follow the steps below:
- Select the Security Options applet from Control Panel.
- Select the System Cookie Options option from the menu to the right of the screen. The System Cookie Options screen is displayed:
- Change the settings in the Cookie Sharing Configuration section:
- Cookie Domain.
- Share on SSL Only.
- Use the drop-down lists to choose to share cookies, from areas such as the Parent Portal, across iSAMS.
- Click Save Options when finished. To revert to previously saved settings, click Reload Options.
System SSL Configuration
You can force users to access iSAMS securely in the System SSL Configuration screen. Use this screen to set up your system with SSL if you have a valid active certificate paired to your domain. Enable SSL connections to allow users to access iSAMS through a secure https:// web address.

To configure the SSL settings, follow the steps below:
- Select the Security Options applet from Control Panel.
- Select the System SSL Configuration option from the menu to the right of the screen.
The System SSL Configuration screen is displayed: - Use the drop-down list next to SSL Connection Available to allow users to connect to iSAMS securely via the https:// web address prefix.
- Use the drop-down list next to SSL Connection Only to force users to access iSAMS via the secure https:// web address prefix.
- Click Save Configuration when finished. To revert to previously saved settings, click Reload Configuration.
System Security Configuration
View and change the contact details of your system's administrator in the System Security Configuration screen. This is useful should you need to contact the administrator and if the administrator needs to update their contact details, such as their e-mail address.
To view and change the administrator's contact details, follow the steps below:
- Select the Security Options applet from Control Panel.
- Select the System Security Configuration option from the menu to the right of the screen. The System Security Configuration screen is displayed:
- Complete the Administrator Details section. Include the Name, E-Mail and Telephone number of the system administrator.
- Click Save Configuration when finished. To revert to previously saved settings, click Reload Configuration.
