Use the Configuration tab in Mobile & Tablet Manager to view and manage devices linked to iSAMS mobile apps. Use the options in the right hand menu to:

| Applet Devices | Manage the devices associated with user accounts. Choose to manage active, unregistered, banned or orphaned devices. You can also search for devices to manage by user. |
| Applet Configuration | Change the linking code that users require to use your mobile apps. You can also reset linking and all settings from the mobile app, view a log of changes and change the configuration of the app. |
Manage Applications
Use the Configuration tab to view the status of mobile applications linked to your iSAMS system. You can also create new applications based on existing API keys and edit the settings for mobile applications as required; these functions must be used with caution.
To view the status of mobile applications, follow the steps below:
- Select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet from iSAMS Control Panel.
The Current Status screen is usually displayed first when you select Mobile & Tablet Manager. - Select the Configuration tab at the top of the screen.
The Manage Applications screen is displayed first:
From here, you can:
- Create a new mobile application based on existing API keys.
- Edit existing mobile applications. For example, use this to update the administrator details.
- Change the order that applications are displayed in iSAMS. This function is not in use.
Creating An Application
You can create applications based on existing API keys in the Manage Applications option. You may wish to use this to create multiple versions of apps for different uses. For example, create an additional Student Portal app that is tailored specifically for examinations and base it on an API key that gathers Student Portal information from iSAMS.
Use this function with caution.
To create a new mobile application, follow the steps below:
- Select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet from iSAMS Control Panel.
The Current Status screen is usually displayed first when you select Mobile & Tablet Manager. - Select the Configuration tab at the top of the screen.
The Manage Applications screen is displayed first: - Click Create Application at the top left of the screen.
A popup window is displayed: - Use the Application Details tab to enable the app and specify its descriptive details:
- Application Inheritance. Select an existing app that you want the new app to copy.
- Application Identity. Specify a permanent name to the application.
- Application Short Name. Specify a shortened version of the name for the application.
- Application Name. Specify a name for the application to be shown across iSAMS.
- Application Description. Choose a description to help identify the application.
- Application State. Enable the application for your system users to access.
- Use the Application Keys tab to select an API key to form the basis of the app.
Choose an API key that retrieves the correct information for your intended purpose. Contact the Help Desk for support on the API keys available when creating an application. - Use the Application Information tab to enter the application administrator's details. These details are shown to users when an error occurs, such as when a user is locked out of the app.
Also choose to enter an Application Version for version control. - Click Save & Close.
Editing An Application
You can edit the details for existing applications in the Manage Applications option. For example, you can edit the administrator associated with the application from this option. You may also use this to update the description listed for an application.
To edit the details for an existing mobile application, follow the steps below:
- Select the Mobile & Tablet Manager applet from iSAMS Control Panel.
The Current Status screen is usually displayed first when you select Mobile & Tablet Manager. - Select the Configuration tab at the top of the screen.
The Manage Applications screen is displayed first: - Click next to the application you wish to edit.
A popup window is displayed: - Use the Application Details tab to enable the app and specify its descriptive details:
- Application Inheritance. You cannot edit this field for iSAMS-configured applications.
- Application Identity. You cannot edit this field for iSAMS-configured applications.
- Application Short Name. You cannot edit this field for iSAMS-configured applications.
- Application Name. You cannot edit this field for iSAMS-configured applications.
- Application Description. Choose a description to help identify the application.
- Application State. Enable the application for your system users to access.
