The Modules & Programmes applet in Control Panel is available for you to view, manage and sort modules used in iSAMS. For example, you may wish to create a group to contain communications-related modules.
Managing the iSAMS modules allows you to:
- Show module groups in a specific order on the left panel of iSAMS. For example, you may wish that the Reporting module group be shown above the Accounts module group in the left panel. You can also organise the position of modules within a group.
- Add new modules to iSAMS. You can create new modules based on .asp web pages. For example, your web developer can create an .asp web page to add an E-Mail feature that can be incorporated as a separate module in iSAMS. You can add new modules outside or within module groups. This is useful for customising your system to suit your organisation.
- Change the permission settings for modules in iSAMS. You can assign specific privileges to users by their security profile.
- List any of the applets shown in Control Panel as a module in the module bar. This is useful for allowing staff access to selected parts of the Control Panel.
The Module Groups containing the modules your organisation uses are shown in the left-hand panel in the Modules & Programmes applet.
Your iSAMS administrator is responsible for managing the modules you use. This involves:
- Creating a new module outside of a module group.
- Creating a new module group.
- Editing a module group's properties.
- Publishing an applet as a module.
- Arranging existing module groups.
Within existing module groups, you can click on a module to:
