Emergency broadcasts provide a quick way of sending messages to multiple users in an emergency, such as an evacuation.
Use the Emergency Broadcast Settings option to view a log of all emergency broadcast batches and their delivery status.
To review emergency broadcasts:
- Select the iSAMS Control Panel from the left hand menu.
- Select the SMS Gateway listed within the applets available.
- Select Emergency Broadcast Settings from the right hand menu.
Open the Broadcast History tab:
The Broadcast History tab shows:
- The number of messages in the batch. A count of the number of messages in each batch is shown in the Post column.
- The delivery status of messages within the batch. A count is shown in each of the delivery status columns.
- The total cost of the batch.
- The user who created the batch. Shown in the Author column. Click on a username to see their contact details.
Choose to:
Download batch details
Click to download technical details of the batch, such as the Message Identity and the time it was sent.
View batch and message details
- Click to view batch details. The View Gateway Batch window is displayed:
An overview of the batch is shown in the Batch Details tab. The other tabs show a count of the messages in each of the delivery status stages.
In the above example you can see in Batch Details tab that the Batch Size is '1' (only one SMS message is in the batch). The message has been sent from iSAMS (indicated by the count in the Posted tab), sent to the provider (indicated by the count in the Sent tab) and received by the recipient (indicated by the count in the Received tab). - Select a populated tab to view messages in more detail:
Each of the messages in the batch at this delivery status stage are listed in the selected tab. - Click to view more details for a selected message. The View Outbound Logs window is displayed:
An overview of the message is shown in the Log Details tab. The other tabs show:
- Status Changes. Details of the status changes that the message has moved through.
- Audit Records. Lists all of the audit records for the selected message. See SMS Call Back Logs for more information on audit records.
Delete a batch
- Click to delete a batch. This button is only displayed for batches that have not been delivered.
You are prompted Are you sure you want to delete this SMS gateway batch? - Select Yes.
The batch is deleted. A record that the batch has been deleted is kept in SMS Gateway Logs.
