Use the School Groups tab in a school record to view, add and remove schools to and from School Groups.
School Groups are used as a search tool for school records in the Other Schools and Admissions modules. Group schools with common properties, you can then select groups when searching to save time. For example, create a group of girls boarding schools and include all schools which match the criteria. Simply select the girls boarding school group in iSAMS when you want to contact all of those schools.
An example of the options available in the School Groups tab is shown below:
Choose to:
- Add a school to a new School Group.
- Add a school to an existing School Group.
- Remove a school from School Groups.
All school groups are listed in the School Groups tab and can also be managed from here. |
Add a School to a New School Group
To add a school to a new group, follow the steps below:
- In the Other Schools module, select the Other Schools tab.
- Search and select a school record to work with and select the School Groups tab.
- Click Add to a New Group in the header bar.
A pop-up window is displayed: - Enter a Name and Description for the new school group. Use a clear and concise name for the school group as this is displayed throughout the module.
- Choose a Category for the group. School groups are listed together by category in search screens and options in iSAMS. Either:
- Select a category from the drop down list.
or - Click to create a new category. Enter and save a new category in the popup window displayed.
- Select a category from the drop down list.
- Click Save & Close.
Your selected school is now linked to the new school group, which is listed in search screens and the School Groups tab.
Add a School to an Existing School Group
To add a school to a new group, follow the steps below:
- In the Other Schools module, select the Other Schools tab.
- Search and select a school record to work with and select the School Groups tab.
- Click Add to Existing Group in the header bar.
A pop-up window is displayed: - Click on your selected school group. Hold Ctrl to make multiple selections, if required.
- Click Save Groups.
Your selected school is now linked to the selected school group(s), which is listed in search screens and the School Groups tab.
Remove a School from School Groups
To remove a school from School Groups, follow the steps below:
- In the Other Schools module, select the Other Schools tab.
- Search and select a school record to work with and select the School Groups tab.
- Either:
- Click in your selected school group.
or - Click Remove From All Groups in the header bar.
- Click in your selected school group.
- Select Yes.
The school is removed from the selected school group(s).
