Account Administrative Options > Setting Account Nickname Options

Use the Features tab in the Pupil Portal Manager module to enable pupils to set a custom nickname in the Pupil Portal. This allows each pupil to set a more familiar name for their Pupil Portal account, which helps users of the portal identify each other:

To allow pupils to assign nicknames for their Pupil Portal accounts, follow the steps below:

1. In the Pupil Portal Manager module, select the Features tab.
2. Select Nickname Options from the right hand menu.
   The Nickname Options screen is displayed:
   
3. In the Nickname Status field, select 'Open' to allow pupils to change their Pupil Portal nicknames in the Pupil Portal.
4. Click Save Options when finished.
