Use the Web Previewing Services applet in Control Panel to configure e-mail preview settings in iSAMS. View and manage how e-mail previews are run from iSAMS and disable system support for older e-mail client platforms and devices.
Three options are listed under the E-Mail Preview Options category in the right hand menu:
Choose from:
- Manage E-Mail Previews. This option is not currently in use.
- Manage Preview Applications. Manage the platforms and devices that can preview e-mails sent from iSAMS. Check running times and default settings.
- Manage E-Mail Preview Options. This option is not currently in use.
These options are also available in the E-Mail Manager applet.
Manage Preview Applications
Use the Manage Preview Applications option to manage the platforms and devices which can preview e-mails sent from iSAMS. This is useful for checking running times on different devices and applying default settings. Use this option to remove support for older platforms and devices.
To manage preview applications, follow the steps below:
- Select Web Previewing Services in Control Panel.
- Select Manage Preview Applications under the E-Mail Preview Options section from the right hand options menu.
The Manage Preview Applications - E-Mail screen is displayed, an example is shown below: - Use the functions available in the screen to configure previewed e-mails for various platforms and devices. Choose to:
- Click to remove the e-mail preview application as the default for its corresponding platform. Alternatively, click - to assign the e-mail preview application as the platform default. Setting a default e-mail preview application causes e-mail previews to open in that application. For example, click the icon next to iPhone 5 to open e-mail previews in its native Mail client by default.
- Click to change the status of the preview in each platform or device. A traffic light system is used to identify whether previews are active (green) or inactive (red). Platforms and devices marked inactive cannot be used to preview e-mails.
- Click Synchronize Preview Applications to run a test preview on all active preview applications. Use this when you are troubleshooting active preview applications.
