Use the LDAP Manager applet in Control Panel to integrate your school's active directory with iSAMS. Use this option to add your primary and backup server details to the system. These settings are configured during installation to work with your servers. You may need to reconfigure these settings should you change your servers.
To configure your active directory with iSAMS, follow the steps below:
- Select the LDAP Manager applet from Control Panel. The Active Directory Configuration screen is displayed when you select LDAP Manager:
- Complete the Active Directory Links section:
- AD Domain Name. The full domain name of your active directory.
- AD Short Domain Name. The shortened domain name of your active directory.
- Complete the iSAMS Domain Administrator section:
- Administrator Username. The username used by iSAMS to log into your active directory.
- Administrator Password. The password used by iSAMS to log into your active directory.
- Complete the Primary Domain Controller (PDC) section:
- Server IP Address. The IP address of the primary (PDC) server that the domain is running on.
- Server Name. The full PDC server name.
- Server DNS Name. The domain name of the PDC server.
- Complete the Backup Domain Controller (BDC) section:
- Server IP Address. The IP address for your backup (BDC) server.
- Server Name. The full BDC server name.
- Server DNS Name. The domain name of the BDC server.
- Click Save Configuration when finished. To revert to previously saved settings, click Reload Configuration.
